First of all, let us start by saying thanks for everyone who made it out to Anime Central 2011 and showed their support. The party was easily the biggest and most successful yet, and we’ll for sure be back for an even bigger even in 2012. Hopefully we’ll be able to announce much earlier for next year so everyone can plan to attend.

As for the shop and updates to it, we’ll be reopening with the existing inventory along with some new albums from Allkore, NoKore, RDC Records, and others within the next week. We’re currently waiting for all inventory to get back to our office in California from Chicago. We’ll be adding more new items in the near future once we have our budgets worked out and situated. We’re also in the process of putting together a preorder system for future M3, Comiket and other significant release dates so you all can secure your copies of the CDs at the same low costs we’ve always tried to offer, with more convenient shipping options.

We did the final bit of testing for the shop itself this morning, and rather than keep everything unannounced until we finish things up like samples and smaller features, we wanted to let you all know that you now can place orders on the shop and shipping will begin tomorrow (Monday, Dec. 13, 2010)! Over the course of the week we’ll be posting smaller updates letting you know which labels we’ve added samples for, what new features have been opened up, and some more details on upcoming promotions. Currently we only accept paypal due to conflict with our merchant service provider, we will be finding another solution soon.

Also, as promised, all items in the shop are 10% off from now until the end of January!

The navigation is pretty straight forward, Artists allows you to search for albums produced or mixed by the artist in question, and labels displays all albums in a particular label. The search bar will also show things on an album level (catalog number, label, album name, artist). Soon we’ll be adding the functionality to search for individual songs on an album or artists that have tracks featured on an album.

THE DAY OF HARDCORE 2010 is upon us! The yearly event became free after it’s first year and all attendees have been given a free promo CD year after year. It’s become something of a mecca for worldwide J-Core fans, with more attendees from outside of Japan year after year (we know a few of you reading this are probably attending this year as well)! We’ve been trying to find a way to share this special day with everyone each year and we believe this is a pretty good start (with many more plans in mind)!

In the past years we’ve had each volume available for sale after the initial event, but this year we’re more than pleased to announce that starting on August 8th (obviously after the shop is open) for a limited time we will be giving a copy to each customer that orders from us as a special bonus for your patronage. After a topic was created on the forums on the subject recently, we decided to officially open up an IRC channel on rizon’s IRC network. In the first few days of existence we’ve been pretty steady, with a minimum of 20 people chatting or idling at any time. We’d love to see that number grow and the conversation become more steady! After some discussion yesterday, it was decided that action needed to be taken in regards to J-Core’s presence on Facebook. A few groups existed prior, but none with a direct focus on promoting the genre and keeping fans informed. Now, mydjsobad in collaboration with GUHROOVY, are happy to bring you an official facebook outlet for the J-Core scene and community. We’ll have all sorts of discussion, updates, news, event listings and more posted in the future! You can find the group at:

We just wanted to explain the user registration setup for the site, as where it stands now there are 2 different accounts you may end up holding here. The first of which is the more obvious of the 2, and that being the account for the site/shop itself. If you were registered on mydjsobad before we closed down last year your account is STILL IN THE SYSTEM, you should be able to just login or recover your password. No need to register a 2nd time.

Next is the forums, this is a separate account, and in the near future we will be giving all users the option to link both accounts. Registration for both is not required, but when our point system goes live there will be bonuses and exclusives given to our more active users. So start posting now! Consider it a head start for discounts, free downloads, and exclusive demos in the future!

In closing, pardon our dust and thanks once again for all of your patience and support. We’ll be back in 100% working order soon and I’m sure all of you will be very pleased with the end results!

So it’s been a little over a year and after months of promises, updates, problems, events, and other distractions we’re back (almost)!

We really wanted to have everything online and ready to go in time for AX, but upon 2nd thought it was just way too tricky to put everything online again and still manage our inventory at the live event. As a result we decided to postpone sales until our inventory is worked out, but we wanted to get the site back up and give you guys access to sign up and get on the forums at the very least. We have a ton of stuff going on that I think needs a bit of description for both the new users and our dedicated existing patrons.

First things first, our inventory is in the process of receiving a massive overhaul. We’ve already received the majority of the albums that were released in the past year (many of them were present at ACen, Fanime and Anime Expo) but there’s still all sorts of stuff we’re working on. We’re also in the process of receiving a number of new labels including but not limited to:

• CIS-TRANCE
• USAO
• DRUGGY’S ACID RACK
• SUPER SWEEP
• BEAUTY:BURST

Comiket is also on it’s way and we have plans for our ordering process for the new releases this time around (including advance ordering for limited stock items or bonus CDs). You’ll see some more details on this soon as we get the inventory all back online and ready to go. We’re also taking a step in doujin direction and plan to be picking up a bigger variety of Touhou and doujin remix albums from other genres of music.

Next would be the introduction/inclusion of forums to the site. We have a number of interactivity features being added to the site and this is just the first of them. We had the “action shots” and reviews on the old site and plan to introduce a more robust set of features for using those as well as the inclusion of user created lists, collection features, and more. Since we’re starting to do more events and have a stronger connection to the Japanese scene than ever, we’ll also have event listings and features related to those.

We’ve also been talking for some time about having an expansive collection of samples available on the website. Thanks to a new database system we’ve been working on, every song on the site will have a sample attached to it. 30-60 second clips of every single track from every release we carry, and maybe even in the future an archive featuring samples for albums we’ve never stocked. In the future we would like to see the site become not only a shop but a resource for fans of the music and a way for newcomers to discover the genre in a fun and easily accessible way.

Which leads us to our blog, and upcoming webzine, which will feature news on new releases & events, interviews with DJs, articles about the genre and all sorts of hard to find or interesting information about the history of Japanese Hardcore. The ‘zine itself may be a little while off, but it’s something we’ve been working on/discussing for a little while now and we have all sorts of great ideas for it.

Other features are in the works as well such as a digital download shop (which means the possible return of Digi-Up, with the potential for new tracks), trading/marketplace, expanded product selection (including T-Shirts, towels from parties, limited edition merchandise) and a points system to registered users for being active on the site, making purchases and coming to events.

All in all, this is the dawn of a new era for us, and we’re still working nonstop to get everything together for you all and make our product selection and website the best they possibly can be.
